Celebrating at the Houses of Parliament
This Tuesday we held our celebration event at the Houses of Parliament, to celebrate the hugely successful Great British Spring Clean.

Hundreds of volunteer champions, school groups, Local Authority officers, companies and others attended the event – our little way of saying a big thank you to the thousands of #LitterHeroes who got involved in the Spring Clean across the country.
Pictured, with our ambassador Kirstie Allsopp and our CEO Allison Ogden-Newton, is one of our #LitterHeroes Wayne (minus his dog Koda) who is taking a break from litter picking the entire UK coastline to attend the event.

We also announced the winners of our two schools art competitions, with the winners of the secondary schools photography competition both in attendance. The twelve winning primary school cartoons will be made into a calendar.

We'd like to say a huge thank you to the 303,125 volunteer heroes who were involved in this year's Great British Spring Clean. Together we removed more than 1,500 tonnes of litter (or 70,000 wheelie bins) from our streets, parks, beaches, towns and countryside.

We hope you will get involved again, and encourage others, to help us make next year's Great British Spring Clean even bigger. Watch this space for more details.
