Team knock on their 20,000th Trafford front door
Aiming to maintain their top-ten position in the English recycling ranks, One Trafford (a partnership between Trafford Council and their contractor Amey), are working with us on a year-long resident engagement campaign.
From May, a Keep Britain Tidy team of Recycling Advisors have been visiting households throughout the borough, to give advice about how to recycle more, and to help people recycle more effectively.
Keep Britain Tidy’s team will also be present alongside One Trafford at community events, providing residents with helpful tips on recycling and information about all the waste and recycling services available to them.
Our team has already talked to over 7,000 householders, increasing awareness about the food and garden waste collection service and finding solutions for any issues people may have with their recycling in general.
Executive Councillor for Highways, Parks and Environmental Services at Trafford Council, Cllr John Reilly said:
We are really pleased to have teamed up with Keep Britain Tidy to help everyone in Trafford to recycle even more. Trafford recycled over 60% last year but we’re not stopping there. We want to recycle even more, especially all food waste which we know is still not being recycled by a small number of residents.
Together we can encourage everyone to recycle all their food waste in their green bin or caddy. Over 340 new recycling bins and caddies have already been ordered through the team, which will make a real difference to the amount we recycle across the borough.”
Our Waste Services team specialises in the delivery of campaigns designed to increase the quantity and quality of recycling and support service changes. If you’re interested in running a similar campaign, please contact Dr. Anna Scott, Waste Services Manager on 020 7420 4407 for an informal chat or email
